Mother's Day Azteca Bread Pudding
Phyllis LeBlanc
As two mothers ourselves, we appreciate a yummy meal prepared by our wonderful families. Of course, when one of the dishes is made from our Cocoa Santé hot cocoa - even better! In honor of Mothers Day, we're sharing Jen's favorite desert treat - Azteca Bread Pudding. Easy enough for little ones to help with and delicious. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
AZTECA BREAD PUDDING
1 loaf French bread
3 cups milk
3/4 cup heavy cream
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup Cocoa Santé Azteca cocoa (can use any of the flavors)
5 eggs
8 oz chocolate chips, or small pieces semisweet chocolate
Whipped cream, for serving
Heat oven to 325 degrees. Grease a 13 x 9 inch baking dish. Cut bread into 1-inch cubes and place in baking dish. Whisk together milk, heavy cream, brown sugar, cocoa mix and eggs. Pour over bread and sprinkle chocolate chips over mixture. Stir gently and let sit for an hour. Bake for 1 hour or until wiggly but firm. Serve with whipped cream.
